Code of Conduct for Parents and Spectators

The Parents and Spectators of AFC Walcountians have a great influence on children's enjoyment and success at our football club. All children play football because they first and foremost love the game - its fun. It is important to remember that however good a child becomes at football, it is important to reinforce the message that positive encouragement will contribute to:

• Children enjoying football
• Personal Achievement
• Self Esteem
• Improving footballing skills & technique.

Parents and spectators expectations and attitudes have a significant bearing on a child's attitude towards:

• Other players
• Officials
• Managers
• Spectators.

Parents and spectators should:

• Applaud the opposition as well as AFC Walcountians
• Avoid coaching the players during the game
• Avoid shouting and screaming
• Respect the referee’s decision
• Give attention to each child involved, not just the most talented
• Give encouragement to everyone to participate in football

All Parents & Spectators of AFC Walcountians should be positive and encourage all of the children, not just their own
