AFC moved up to fourth in the table after they cruised to a third league win of the season against Southwark Borough 2009. Hitting the bar with their first attack of the game within just ten seconds, Walcountians dominated the first half but found themselves behind after a quick Southwark counter attack.
The lead lasted all of two minutes, though, as Ryan Thomas dribbled down the right wing before hammering the ball in to the bottom corner from a tight angle. Soon after AFC went ahead as a Sam Grosser corner was met at the far post by Dan Haines, who made no mistake from six yards to score his first goal for the club. Despite chances to extend the lead, the score remained 2-1 at the break.
The second half continued in the same manner as the first half ended, with AFC dominant. A deflected Ryan McMorrow effort followed by a Sam Grosser brace – a volley and a penalty – made the score 5-1. A trio of superbly taken goals from Luke Rodgers, Dara Obakin and Sam Grosser then followed to make the score 8-1.
A late consolation goal from Southwark was then met with two further Walcountians goals – George Harrington getting on the scoresheet and Luke Rodgers grabbing his second of the game to complete the rout and make the final score 10-2.
